Welcoming Committee for our Friends of the Middle East and North Africa

In response to an increasing level of prejudice against individuals of Muslim faith from North Africa and the Middle East the Board of Directors of Sculpture Northwest has decided to promote an appreciation of cultural diversity through Art by mounting a four county [Island, San Juan, Skagit and Whatcom] international outdoor sculpture exhibit "Art Beyond Conflict: Contemporary Sculpture of the Middle East."

Sculpture Northwest plans to place outdoor sculpture in the four counties created by artists from fifteen countries of the Middle East and North Africa. This exhibit will be advertised regionally, nationally, and internationally. The exhibit is planned to open in June of 2017 and remain in place for over a year. We are approaching organizations in these four counties asking that they make a statement welcoming and supporting a better understanding and appreciation of other cultures and faiths. A larger donation, if possible, would be truly appreciated. Individual members of your organization could also become members of the "Welcoming Committee" with a donation of $50. Please bring this project to the attention of your members and friends.

Sculpture Northwest is a 501(c)3 non-profit art organization with an office and gallery in Bellingham, Washington at 203 Prospect St. Our goal is to promote this corner of Washington as an international tourist destination to view outstanding outdoor sculpture.

Please mail donations to: Sculpture Northwest. P.O. Box 5631, Bellingham, WA 98227
